Daffodil Festival 2017

We’ve planted thousands of Daffodils (or “Daffodilly” – as the Elizabethans would say) for this month-long celebration. Bloom peak and variety will vary depending on our ever-changing Outer Banks weather and Mother Nature. This budding celebration seeks to

Mosaic gardening/planting is the method of creating a precise planting scheme to achieve a specific shape. The Elizabethan Gardens will be offering advanced workshops that will involve laying out the intricate design of summer annuals at our main garden entrance. These will be limited to six per workshop. Air Plant Wall Garden Workshop

1-3pm $40 for members. $55 for not-yet members. Limit 12. Join us at the Elizabethan Gardens for a discussion on air plants and the creation of your own vertical air plant garden. There are more than 650 types of air plants in the genus Tillandsia that can grow and thrive without soil. These Bromeliads capture all of the water and nutrients that they need trough their specialized leaves. Bromeliads can grow as Epiphytes, Lythophytes, and as Trerrestrials. They are native to the Southern US, Mexico, Central and Southe America, and are warm weather plants that need virtually no care. Prom Nite presented by Twiddy & Company

For this evening, the Gardens will be open for FREE for all Dare County Youth who are attending prom. Bring up to two family members or guests per youth. The backdrop of The Gardens becomes the perfect scene for you to pose for some fantastic pre-prom photographs. Light refreshments and entertainment will set the tone for a magical evening. This event is made possible with sponsorship by  Twiddy and Company, Pepsi, Beach 104 and 99.1 The Sound (Max Radio of the Carolinas) and The Elizabethan Gardens.

The Elizabethan Gardens is located adjacent to The Lost Colony's Waterside Theatre and Fort Raleigh National Historic Park on Roanoke Island nestled near North Carolina's Outer Banks. The gardens are open year-round, seven days a week except certain holidays.
