Colonist Bricks

Colonist Memorial Bricks

The Elizabethan Gardens and your Garden Club, entwined into history

This special project is reserved for Garden Clubs across the state of North Carolina. A club’s donation of $100 (one hundred dollars) for a memorial brick, combined with other clubs around the state will make a big difference. It will help us to build new walks in the Gardens, enhance our plant collection, purchase tools for our gardeners, create an educational center, provide reduced or free educational programs in the Gardens for children and so much more.

As of Nov 21, over 60 garden clubs have donated a memorial brick. There are however,  colonist names left to be used. We will chose a name from the remaining list for your group.

Your brick will help us memorialize an original Elizabethan colonist who walked the shores of Roanoke Island and then vanished mysteriously into history. Help us celebrate the Garden Clubs of The Great North State, as well as our rich history.
