MotherVine Tasting

Feb 25 - Feb 25 2012, 10:30 AM TO 2:00 PM

Would you like to taste what the first English colonists tasted when they arrived on Roanoke Island?  Scuppernong, a bronze muscadine cultivar, is the North Carolina state fruit. The Mother Vine, noted by accounts to be growing when the colonist arrived, is of the scuppernong variety. Scuppernong juice is now available at The Elizabethan Gardens Gift Shop. Members and non-members of The Gardens are welcome to visit the gatehouse Gift Shop to sample these glorious juices. On Saturday, February 25th, from 10:30 a.m. until 2 p.m., the MotherVine Nutraceutical Company will host a tasting of scuppernong and muscadine juices. The Gardens are open 10a.m. - 4p.m. daily the month of February. Special offers will be available while supplies last. The Gardens invite you to try a taste of this magnificent fruit juice. General admission price applies to non-members who wish to stroll The Gardens. The tasting located in the Gatehouse Gift Shop is free and open to the public.
