Easter Eggstravaganza
The Gardens hop with excitement over this annual event. The fresh spring colors of The Gardens make it the perfect place for an Easter egg hunt. This family fun event will have all the traditional activities that families expect plus a few additions. Traditional activities planned are the egg roll race, egg hunt and Easter bonnet and hat contest for all ages. Call 252-473-3234 for details.
Harvest Hayday/ Diamonds & Denim
This autumn-tide event features harvest-hemed activities for families on the Great Lawn. Activities include: hay maze, build a scarecrow, leaf rubbing, face painting, balloon sculpting, bird ID, corn hole toss, bubbles, pumpkin bowling, apple rolling, entertainment, make and take crafts, hay rides, Fish and Wildlife activities. Refreshments and baked goods will be available to purchase. Gift shop sales and plant sales will run concurrent to this event. After a full-days play, The Gardens Great Lawn is transformed to host an elegantly relaxed dinner dance called Diamonds and Denim. Live music, great food, silent and live auctions are features of the fall-themed event.
Garden Camp
In July 2011, The Elizabethan Gardens hosted its very first week-long gardening camp for children 6 -11 years old. During the camp, the young gardeners learned all about The Elizabethan Gardens, its unique history, the mystery of the colonists and of course enjoyed digging and planting. Campers enjoyed activities like harvesting spearmint leaves to make their own mint chocolate-chip ice cream, learning to identify plants by placing signs in their small garden, and participating in garden-related arts and craft activities. Grand Illumination
Holiday kick-off event for WinterLights, a seasonal display of holiday lights and sights throughout The Gardens. Special local entertainers and refreshments are featured at this kick-off to WinterLights. Gift shop sales and plant sales will run concurrent to this event.
WinterLights
Imagine over one million lights transforming The Gardens into an illuminated winter wonderland complete with floral creations and traditional holiday decorations. Gift shop sales and plant sales will run concurrent to this event.
Winter Home & Garden Workshops
Come set the home for the holidays with the creation of a unique home craft project just in time to invigorate up your holiday. Supplies provided
