Succulent Container Gardening

Easter Eggstravaganza 2018

“The largest egg scavenger hunt on the beach with thousands of eggs!”

OVERVIEW

Egg spoon races, hat contest, musical acts, dancers, special visit from Sir  easteregg3 Walter “Peter” Wabbit, make and take crafts, egg roll race, find special prize eggs to win: prizes, gift certificates, stuffed animals and more!

“Please bring your own Easter Basket for collecting eggs and prizes.”

This event has become an Outer Banks spring tradition held in the midst of the beautiful spring blooms featuring an egg scavenger hunt, photo opportunities, a homemade bake sale, egg roll on the Great Lawn, story time, educational crafts, games, music, an Easter bonnet and hat contest, and more kid-geared fun.

Join The Elizabethan Gardens for the 2018 Butterfly Festival. Enjoy educational booths and demonstrations, as well as lots of activities for butterfly enthusiasts and families. The month-long festival also includes special events, crafts, food, gardening information, an up-close experience with butterflies and much more. General daily events are included with Garden admission. Some events will need additional fees.

On-Going Festival Activities to Include:
* Self-guided tours of the Butterfly Pavilion (guided group tours available by request and on select days)
* Butterfly Releases*
* Butterfly Discovery Lab and Kids’ Activities
* Butterfly Experts, Booths and Workshops on select days
* Plant Sales and Craft Vendors
* Artist inspired butterfly art.
*Release a Butterfly experience includes butterfly and butterfly token.  Cost is $20 per person.

March 31 – A “Magic Wings Grand Release” (3pm) will start our festival. Guests will be able to witness the release of initial butterflies to begin the festival. (Food to be served, extra charge for admission for this event. Guests to receive seeds for planting butterfly-loving plants in their gardens.)

The Elizabethan Gardens is located adjacent to The Lost Colony's Waterside Theatre and Fort Raleigh National Historic Park on Roanoke Island nestled near North Carolina's Outer Banks. The gardens are open year-round, seven days a week except certain holidays.
