ABOUT THE EVENT
The classic event of the genteel south comes to The Elizabethan Gardens. Dress in style and enjoy the revels and embellishments of the race at this fundraising extravaganza that benefits three Outer Bank non-profits: The Elizabethan Gardens, Beach Food Pantry and Dare Education Foundation. Sponsored by Outer Banks Blue Realty. Expect a traditional southern affair with mint juleps, live and silent auctions, sumptuous derby pie, a hat contests and an assortment of live music, games and entertainment as you enjoy the beautiful gardens and anticipate the big race to be broadcast live. The event will take place on the Great Lawn.

- A Derby Hat Contest for party attendees (categories include Most Creative, Most Colorful and Best Overall)
A live auction and award ceremony to announce the winners of these contest will be held before the big race.
AND OF COURSE, THE’RE’S THE DERBY RACE, streamed live on large screens.
Place bet’s on the winning stallion with our derby “Horse Bucks.” Winners will receive a variety of prizes based on their luck in the race.

About the Beach Food Pantry
We exist to provide free groceries to individuals and families in our community who have been affected by a temporary crisis or emergency. We offer hope to the estimated 4,370 people in Dare County who are food insecure – 1,470 of whom are children. And, we offer our commitment – to every Dare County resident – that we will be prepared to do our part should our Outer Banks community ever be affected by a natural event.
