Welcome Our New Programs Director Jenna Livernois

Hey, everyone! I’m Jenna Livernois, and I’m so excited to step into the role of Programs and Events Manager here at The Elizabethan Gardens. I’ve called Dare County home for the past 11 years, but I grew up just up the road in Virginia Beach—and spent much of my childhood making memories right here in the Outer Banks.Programs Manager

I love exploring our sandbar—whether it’s hiking, beachcombing, or swimming in the ocean.  I earned my Biology degree from Old Dominion University and have spent most of my career in informal environmental education, working at the Virginia Aquarium, the North Carolina Aquarium, and Jennette’s Pier.

Most recently, I served as the Horticulture Agent for Dare County through NC State Extension. I learned so much from the university experts and specialists as well as the large group of Extension Master Gardener volunteers. I have a passion for all things green—especially tending houseplants and growing fruits and veggies in seasonal gardens.

I have spent most of my working life also serving, bartending and managing restaurants along side with my day jobs. I’m excited to bring together everything I’ve learned, from education to hospitality, into this new chapter at the Gardens. I can’t wait to help create fun, engaging programs and unforgettable events in one of the most beautiful places on the Outer Banks!
